Tip 1 - Getting Started with Infographics
This online, self-paced course presents an introduction to the design tool called Canva. Canva is not to be confused with the Canvas learning management system (LMS). Canva provides you with a powerful toolkit to easily and quickly create spectacular resources even if you are not a designer or an artist. If you are an artist or designer, you have a huge repository of tools all in one place to bring new creations to life at no charge. Yes, Canva is free to all K-12 educators.

1. Login to your Google account
2. Click infographic below (or use this link to browse Google Drive folders) that you want to get started with. This will allow you to go to FILE->MAKE A COPY in your Google Drive
3. Customize the infographic template in Google Slides/Drawing
Tip #3 - Start with Templates
You can find templates for a wide variety of infographics online. Then, you can adapt them for your own use in Google Slides, Google Drawings, Microsoft Powerpoint, or whatever tool you like.
You have to get accustomed to finding inspiration everywhere! Use this Google Drawings/Slides template library to get started.
Tip #4: Explore and Design
Follow these steps to infographic design:
Tell a story or say something. Find discrete pieces of information to share that tell a story.
Draw or Map it out. Explore templates and layouts you can use.
Keep it simple. Find a simple style you can make that matches what you are trying to say.
Share. Share your creation online.
Reflect and Get Feedback. Don't be afraid to critique your creation, as well as invite others to before final publication.
