CER2 - Jelly Bean Test

Here's a quick activity to let you show off your CER writing skills. You also get access to several templates you will be using throughout these CER planning and writing activities. Don't forget to share what you come up with in the Padlet at the end.

Let's get started!

Step 1 - Watch the Video

Watch the video (you pick which one). What did you observe? What did you see? Note that there is a handy observation log in step 2 you can use...think of this as an iterative process.

Question: Does plugging your nose affect the flavor of a jelly bean?

Note: While it would be ideal for you to do this with genuine jelly beans, nose pinches, and/or worms, it has been simplified for use in a workshop setting.

Step 2 - Formulate Your Observation

Now that you have observed phenomenon, write down what you have observed. No detail is unimportant when it deepens your understanding. Don't be afraid to go back and watch the video again.

Encouraging drawing of what is observed can help focus you on the details.
