GC: Photo Slide Shows
Slides offers many exciting features that make it a versatile assistant for educators. Photo slide shows are a great way to share images and pictures.
In this quick tutorial, we'll explore some ways to manipulate images, as well as organize pictures for a photo slide show.
Tips
#1 – Add Pictures via Google Search
You can upload (put) your own picture; grab a snapshot if on a device equipped with a camera; paste in the URL (web address) to a picture you have found online, in your albums, or on Google Drive; or take advantage of Google’s Image Search. Notice that the results shown are labeled for commercial reuse with modification.

#2 – Add Lots of Pictures to a Google Slide
“Use photos that enhance meaning,” says Aaron Weyenberg (Director, TED). That seems obvious, right? Aaron encourages us to focus on message first, then to select images that enhance. When I create my Google Slides, I find myself crafting my message and looking for images at the same time. Aaron’s more measured approach involves finding images AFTER the message.
Let’s say that you have gathered your images into a folder. Now you have ahead of you the repetitive task of inserting those images and adding words. What if there was an easier way?
Use the Photos to Slide Chrome add-on for Slides. This add-on makes it easy to create a Photo Slide Show.
Here’s how:
Drag-n-drop images for an upcoming presentation in a Google Drive folder in JPG, PNG, or GIF format.
Start a new Google Slide in the folder with all the images.
Go to Add Ons and then select Photos to Slide.
Pick the images you want to include in the slide show.
Customize your Slides slide deck theme, shuffling slides with pre-loaded images around.
Import up to 1000 images at a time,
Sort images by time, filename, or description,
Display description as a caption,
Import more than one album at a time,
Review and individually select images to import,
Import from Shared Albums and Shared Drives
